Question by francesca: Is it bad if you use anti-wrinkle creams when you’re young?
I’m 18-years-old and I was just wondering about this…I don’t like the wrinkles I have on my face now so I try and use moisturizers and creams (usually around my eyes and the “smile” lines around my mouth) to try and lessen them. My friend told me that using anti-wrinkle creams when you’re young makes them not have an effect on you when you get older. Is this true, or is it okay to use anti-wrinkle creams at a young age?

This is what I do every morning:
1.Gently wipe off any leftover eyeliner with Philosophy cleanser.
2.Rinse off my face with Philosophy cleaner, cold water.
3. Moisturize with Clinique.

At night:
1. Rinse off face with Avon clay cleanser.
2. Remover mascara/eyeliner with Philosophy cleanser.
3. Moisturize with Philosophy Hope in a Jar.
4. Dab on Avon Anew wrinkle/line corrector around eye area.
5. Dab on Avon Intense Age Defying cream around eye area, forehead, and mouth.

I know that the anti aging creams aren’t necessary, as I don’t have any wrinkles yet, but I just want to be prepared.

If there is anything I should add please let me know.

Don’t do to much.
First of all… remove ALL makeup before cleansing at night. and the way to be “prepared” for wrinkles is Spf before leaving the house, even if its not very bright outside.

A while back, I saw an episode of Oprah and one of her guests was a 60 year old lady who had amazing skin with very few wrinkles. She said her secret was that she had started using Vagisil on her face from a young age and it prevented her from getting wrinkles. What do you guys think? Has anyone tried it? If so, does it really work?

Question by Silly person: If cow poo helped to keep you looking young would you use it?
This question is mainly for the women, if cow poo was found to help you stay young would you splash 100 bucks or more for it? How much would you be willing to pay? Did you know that anti -aging cream is a lie? it is, its like putting cow poo on your face, which is pointless unless you like the smell and warmth

well personally,it has to do with the water temp. do not wash in warm hot water. Use cool to cold water it open pores, and refreshes the skin, and it don;t make it red!! and then finish with a cream like noxema. it makes your complexion clear.

This is so irritating! I am 18 and my face is dry! I have even started using my mothers thick anti aging cream to try to add some moisture, but it just isn’t working! When I put makeup on you can see little skin flakes :@! What can I do for my face so that it isn’t so dry? Thanks
I do also exfoliate, but not overly. You can’t notice how dry it isnt until I wash my face and then moisturize. It is most obvious when I put foundation on (mineral powder)

Clinique Dramatically Different Moisterizer is AMAZING. It doesn’t go on heavy at all, and it’s great for all skin types. My skin tends to be oily and I can use it without it causing problems. If you use a facial cleanser, try not to get one that foams, the suds will dry your skin out more, and also, try not to use really warm water for long periods of time on your skin.

I am 15 years old and i started wearing makeup, almost daily, in middle school probably around the age 13 years old. My mother always says that I will get wrinkles earlier on if i keep wearing make-up. I was just wondering if i what my mom says is correct.
I take off my make up everyday before i go to sleep and i apply a moisturizer everyday after i wash my face as well.
I use a Dior make up remover for the eyes and the baby lotion by johnson & johnson because i found that it is very gentle on my skin and makes my face more smooth and clean looking.

What is the ideal age to start using anti aging cream?
If so, which products should i use?

idk about the wrinkles part but to prevent crows feet i was always tols to remove your makeup with cream (as you said you did) and dont rub off your make up

I obsess about my complexion, so I know I didn’t have these lines just a week ago. I went to Miami recently, and when I came back I noticed laugh lines. I didn’t use lotion or moisturizer or sunblock, but I wasn’t in the sun for long periods of time either. We drove a lot though. I didn’t roam around the beach for too long. When the trip was over I was covered in pimples and had laugh lines on my face. Should I moisturize that area and get anti-aging creams?

Well, I do think you should start in your twenties to use face cream. Although, I do not think that you should be using face creams that are made to fight wrinkles.

You don’t need those strong ingredients for your skin yet. You should either just be concentrating on a good skin care regimen (cleansing, maybe toning, and moisturizing with a “normal” moisturizer—not something that is meant for “wrinkles” “anti-ageing”…….) or you should be getting skin care products that are targeted to your age group (as these deal with what’s really important for your skin at your age).

I know that Yves Rocher has products that target those in their twenties. Companies like Garnier and Neutrogena have products like Skin Naturals Fresh and Healthy Defense, which have practical things that aid the skin while giving it that essential moisturization.
